This table shows some of the hotels in Heidelberg.

Bob Flores visited some of these hotels in late 2005. His evaluation is noted in the Comments column. Look for the text after "BF:"

Hotel Comments
Crown Plaza BF: Modern, American style. Elevator. Large rooms with A/C. On Bismarckplatz. The Lufthansa Bus stops here.
Holiday Inn Near PHV
Hollander Hof BF: Many people swear by this hotel. Traditional German hotel. Next to the Old Bridge.
Anlage BF: Very nice rooms, but no view at all. Very noisy on the street side (ask for a back room against the hillside). Located about a 10-minute walk from Bismarckplatz toward the Castle.
Vier Jahreszeiten BF: Almost as nice as the Hollander Hof (right next door), but a better bargain since breakfast is included and the rate is a bit lower. No A/C. And lots of steps to get to the rooms.
Neu Heidelberg BF: Located in Pfaffengrund (west of Heidelberg City), but with a streetcar one block away. Very clean, traditional B&B type of place. Parking is free. This hotel is not within walking distance of any of the typical Heidelberg tourist areas.
Nassauer Hof Garage (extra charge). BF: I really liked this place. There are strict no smoking rules and they will kick you out if you're too rowdy. Traditional German hotel, but updated. Located just off Bismarckplatz at the beginning of the Hauptstrasse. Some rooms have A/C. Elevator.
Art Hotel Garage (extra charge). BF: An ultramodern hotel. Elevator. All rooms are wired for internet access. I loved this place, but priced out of my league. Located at the foot of the castle.
Leonardo Hotel Air Conditioning
Hotel Montpi
Heidelberg Hotel (was Hotel Erna) In Kirchheim. Bus (#33) stops right across the street, and Streetcar #26 stops nearby. Some rooms have A/C. Cheaper rooms are in the basement. More expensive rooms have balconies
